PUBLIC NOTICE
The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) approved the Application of Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. (MDU or the Company) to pass-on a natural gas commodity cost increase of $0.647 per dekatherm (Dth) to Residential, Firm General Service, Small Interruptible, and Large Interruptible customers and an increase of $0.607 to Optional Seasonal customers, effective for use on and after June 1, 2021, subject to notice, protest, intervention, refund, change, further investigation, opportunity for hearing and further order of the Commission.
The average MDU residential customer using 1.30 Dth in June 2021 will experience a monthly bill increase of approximately $0.84 before taxes. Actual bills will vary with usage. sThe proposed pass-on results in a projected increase of approximately $32,400 in the Company’s June 2021 revenues. The increase does not change the Company’s rate of return.
Commission Rule Chapter 3, Section 26 allows a utility to pass-on to its customers known or projected commodity cost increases or decreases on a dollar-for-dollar basis, subject to public notice, opportunity for hearing and refund.
MDU’s Application is on file at the Commission’s offices in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and is available for inspection by any interested person during business hours or online at https://psc.wyo.gov.
