Fransico “Pancho” Matiella passed away at the New Horizon Care Center on March 4, 2020. He was born Dec. 17, 1953, to Alfredo and Maria Luz (Morles) Matiella in Nogales, Arizona. He was married on June 6, 1987, to Valerie Short in Cody.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Roy Carson, daughter Misty Ann Short, and his niece Liz.
He is survived by sons Armando (Andre) Urtuzuastegui of Arizona, Frankie (Dulce) Matiella of Arizona, Dustin (Jess) Short of Powell; daughters Amy Matiella and Rudy Orozco of Arizona, and Jessica Matiella and Rick Mertz of Powell; brothers Alfredo (Kathy) Matiella of Texas and Ben (Terri) Matiella of Pilar, Mexico; sister Elsa Carson of Cody, many nieces and nephews, and Gilbert Meza, who Pancho always considered as a son.
Services will be held on Wednesday, March 11, at 2 p.m., at Faith Commmunity Church, at 1267 Road 18. Memorials may be sent to Valeria Matiella 882 East Seventh Street, Lot 3, Powell, WY 82435. Thompson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
