Forest officials doing great job with Fishhawk Fire

Dear Editor:

I was pleased to hear that our local forestry representatives have been closely monitoring and seeking expert assistance for limiting damage from the Fishhawk Fire (near Cody).

The public meeting held Tuesday near Wapiti was very well attended. My main interest in this instance, was in what was being done to protect our beloved Camp Buffalo Bill (BSA), near Yellowstone National Park (across from the Creekside Lodge on the Northfork Highway). I therefore ask all our local Scouts and their families (along with all their friends) to consider saying a prayer for these great people who do so much to preserve our beautiful surroundings and encourage conservation of all the plant life and wild animals we often admire as we hike trails and fish in the water ways and lakes in our area. I am sure our gratitude and our thanksgiving will bring the blessings that we deserve.

One thing we truly need is more rain and a little more humidity to help our experts protect lives and property that might be in the path of this wild fire. And while we are at it, we can thank our media services and the public affairs agencies for their efforts that are keeping us informed about the fire. Also, we can thank our law enforcement and public health people, along with our county commissioners or other political and government officials who care about our general welfare.

Thanks ahead of time for expressing your faith on behalf of all who are affected by this wildfire. Let’s begin now to earnestly pray that the general conditions will change in favor of preventing the destructive effects of this fire.
