Park County Farm Bureau board members hosted the president of the American Farm Bureau Federation on a tour of selected farms Monday.
Vincent “Zippy” Duvall from Georgia leads the national Farm Bureau office in Washington, D.C.
“It is really exciting,” said Abby Shuler, immediate past president of the Park County Farm Bureau. “As far as we know, we can’t remember a national president visiting in this area. From what we understand, it’s part of a multi-state visit.”
A delegation from the Wyoming Farm Bureau staff, including state president Todd Fornstrom, also joined in to welcome the national president to Wyoming.
Shuler said the local Farm Bureau members were pleased to showcase Park County agriculture to Duvall and to the state staff as well.
“A lot of people don’t realize how diverse we are in Park County agriculture, compared to the rest of the state,” Shuler added.
The Monday morning tour began at the Brian Asher farm in the Heart Mountain area. Asher is the president of Park County Farm Bureau. Other stops followed at the places of board members Corey Forman, Wade Shuler and Josh Christofferson.
