Farm Bureau gets a history lesson

Posted

The state president of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation, Todd Fornstrom, took members of the  Park County Farm Bureau back to their roots in remarks to the county convention Friday night in Powell.

Fornstrom provided “a little history lesson” on Farm Bureau and how it came into being when farmers in Binghamton (Broom County), New York,  first banded together in 1911.

“Very few people had the knowledge of soil science and animal genetics in those days, and they came together on both policy development and learning to apply techniques,” he said.

Fornstrom said it is important to know your roots “so you have a firm belief in where you want to go.” He said Park County Farm Bureau “is an awfully good group with a good, active core.”
