Doris Maxine Roland, 79, died Oct. 11, 2017, at her home in Powell.

Doris was born May 13, 1938, in Adams City, (now known as Commerce City), Colorado, to Frank and Elsie (Pryor) Bray.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Colorado State College. On Aug. 23, 1960, Doris married John Edward Roland in Raton, New Mexico. The couple lived in Greeley, Colorado; Gallup, New Mexico; Barrow, Alaska; Ft. Kent, Maine; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Bozeman, Montana; and Powell in 1968 through present.

Doris was a teacher, and a cook at Powell Valley Hospital. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed backpacking, canoeing, cooking, sewing, crafts, and watching Chicago Cubs baseball. She had a giving nature and was joyful and happy, always singing or humming.

Doris was preceded in death by her father, Frank Bray Sr., mother, Elsie Bray; brothers, Frank Bray, Jr, Leonard Bray, and sisters, Kathryn Stone, and Bessie Fawcett.

She is survived by her husband John; daughters Ramona (Scott) Haeder of Billings, Montana; Rebecca Roland (Andrew Bunning) of Yellowstone National Park; sisters Ruby Johnson of Denver; Helen Gouge of Longmont, Colorado; Carol (Mike) Harding of Greeley, Colorado; Joyce (Ray) Ingersoll of Phoenix, Arizona; Wilma Bolden; Barbara (Burton) Burough, Greeley, CO; brother-in-law Hollis Stone of Greeley, Colorado; and one grandchild, Eli.
