Demand an end to the horror at the border

Posted

Dear Powell residents:

I’m certain there are many more than the 25 people in Powell who showed up in Washington Park on Friday night to show their concern about what our government is doing to human beings seeking safety at our borders! And I’m also sure that there were people in Germany who cared when millions of people were dying at the hands of the Nazis. But history does not tell us that they spoke up to try to stop the carnage!

This is happening now in our own country and we must stand up and say stop to those seemingly “less than human beings” running our country. If we don’t, more children will be separated from their parents. Imagine that: If it was your child put into a cage at the age of 3 or 4, or even 11 or 12, how will they survive a trauma like that? How many years of therapy will it take to heal that? Who would do things like this? Who would let people die in squalid conditions, imprisoned because they were seeking safety and a better life?

They are people with no empathy, no ability to even have a twinge of FEELING for another human being. They are people whose only care in the world is accumulating more and more money. They are our president, Mitch McConnell and our representatives in Congress — people who grew up never having learned empathy.

We have to stop this. We have to demand an end to this horror at our border.

Call our representatives and tell them this is unacceptable.
