Cody airport hosting open house on master plan

The Yellowstone Regional Airport Joint Powers Board will host an open house on possible revisions to the Cody airport’s master plan next month.

The event is set to run from 6-7 p.m. in the airport’s Duggleby Room on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

“This event is intended to give the public an opportunity to learn about the positive changes taking place and some of the potential improvements that are being considered as part of the airport’s master planning process,” YRA officials said in a news release.

Interested residents are encouraged to attend and may come and go as convenient, as there is no formal presentation scheduled. Representatives from the airport board, staff and the consultant team will be available to answer questions and receive comments.

The airport’s master plan is a comprehensive study that will describe proposed short, medium and long-term improvements needed to meet future aviation demand and other airport needs.

“The primary goal of the Airport Master Plan Update is to prepare a living document that will serve as the airport’s official planning guide for capital expenditures for the next 20 years,” the YRA news release said.

Funding for the study includes grants from the Federal Aviation Administration and the Aeronautics Division of the Wyoming Department of Transportation.

Information on the Master Plan Update process is available at: www.flyyra.com/yra-master-plan.

Yellowstone Regional Airport is located at 2101 Roger Sedam Dr. in Cody.
