Christmas Eve, day services announced

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are significant days of worship in mainstream western religions. Here is a list of churches and their schedules for worship today (Thursday) and Friday, Christmas Day:

Grace Point 550 Kattenhorn Drive will hold two Christmas Eve services based on last names. A-L will worship at 5 p.m. and M-Z will worship at 6 p.m.

The First United Methodist Church 137 W. Second St., will hold a candlelight service at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve.

The Garland Community Church of God, 700 Sheridan Ave. in Garland, will hold a candlelight service at 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

St. Barbara’s Catholic Church, 115 E. Third Street, will celebrate Mass at 7:30 a.m. Christmas Eve (Thursday)and Christmas Day and a Mother’s Rosary at 10 a.m. Christmas Day.

Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 777 East Seventh Street, will hold a worship service at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Hope Lutheran Church, 588 Ave. H, will hold candlelight in person services with communion at 4 and 7 p.m. Christmas Eve. The 4 p.m. service will also be livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. 

The Church of Christ, 749 Hwy 14A, will hold a candlelight service at 5 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Union Presbyterian Church, 329 N. Bent Street, is holding an in-person service at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Trinity Baptist Church, 535 S. Evarts St., will hold a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m.

Although attempts were made to include every church, some may have been inadvertently missed. Worshipers are encouraged to check hours and services before they make plans.
