Carl Ray Stienbarger passed away on Feb. 22, 2021, at the Houston Methodist Continuing Care Hospital in Houston, Texas.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1943, in Powell, to James A. Stienbarger and Ethel W. Ness.

He attended school in Powell and graduated from Powell High School in 1962. He was very active in wrestling, going to state all four years. He then studied botany and business management at Northwest Community College from 1963 to 1964.

He was in the National Guard for six years. He worked for CD&V Oil Field Construction until 1972. Then he started working for Marathon Oil Corporation in May 1972, and transferred to Louisiana in 1975, working on the off-shore platforms in the Gulf of Mexico as an off-shore maintenance supervisor. He continued to work for them until June 1995. He then moved to Houston, Texas, and from 1996 to 2020, he worked as a resourceful and dedicated documentation manager providing engineering document management and control solutions in the oil and gas industry, with specific expertise in off-shore and on-shore energy production. He traveled for Exxon Mobil to oil fields in Chad-Cameroon, Nigeria, Malaysia, Australia, and Canada.

Carl married Nancy R. Martin in 1965. Together they had two daughters, Brenda and Laura.

Carl married Linda S. Sullivan in 1986. They were married for over 34 wonderful years.

Together they traveled to many places around the world. They enjoyed the outdoors, camping and spending time by the ocean. They loved their pets. They had a cockatiel that is currently 25 years old, a dog and a cat.

Carl is survived by his wife Linda S. Stienbarger, of Houston, Texas; his daughter Brenda J. Feller (Stienbarger), married to John L. Feller, of Powell; and daughter Laura N. Stienbarger, also of Powell; stepson Adam Maubach, of Clute, Texas; grandson Troy R. Broadway, married to Arielle M. Broadway, of Powell; great-grandson Aaron R. Broadway, great-granddaughter Serena R. Broadway, and great-grandson Bryson S. Broadway, of Powell; grandson David J. Broadway, of Sheridan, Wyoming; sister Patricia S. Wolfe (Stienbarger) of Sandy, Utah; sister Lois A. Ramirez (Stienbarger), married to John Ramirez, of Rock Springs, Wyoming; as well as several nephews, nieces and cousins.
