Button artwork sought for Homesteader fundraiser

Homesteader Museum will host a button-themed art show and fundraiser as part of its annual Tea and Table Settings event. Artists are invited to submit button artwork by Friday.

“People could make wall art, sculpted items, decorative pieces ... any kind of artwork they can dream up and produce,” said Marybeth Richardson, an organizer of the annual Tea and Table Settings.

Artwork can be submitted to the Homesteader Museum during business hours (Tuesday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Folks can also call the museum at 307-754-9481 to make arrangements for drop off.

Artwork will be offered for sale with a 60/40 split — 60% to the artist/creator and 40% to the Homesteader Museum. Artists/creators will establish the minimum price for their artwork, as well as a “buy it now” price. Entry forms are available at the museum.

The Button Works exhibit will open with a reception on March 12 from 6:30-8 p.m. The silent auction will begin that evening.

The exhibit will be moved to The Commons for the 8th Annual Tea and Table Settings Fundraiser Luncheon on May 9. Button art will be awarded to the highest bidder at that time.

This year’s fundraiser will continue the efforts to update the security system for Homesteader Museum. Donations for the security system project may be sent directly to the museum at P.O. Box 54, Powell WY, 82435. Mark your donation “security system.”
