Camps continue to fly in at the Powell High School gym, as the Powell Panther boys alongside the Northwest College men’s program will host a basketball camp next Monday-Thursday.
Camp will kick off Monday at 8 a.m. with registration. The camp begins at 9 a.m. starting with an emphasis on individual fundamentals.
Any athlete, boy or girl from fourth to 12th grade is welcome to attend the camp, which costs $180 for the week, with $80 of that total due as a deposit with the application.
That will include six stations that focus on fast break and rebounding, defense, shooting, individual offense, team offense along with screening and passing in the morning.
Afternoon sessions will take that morning session and expand it into 3v3 and 5v5 games in addition to shooting leagues and contests throughout the day.
Campers will be organized based on age and level of skill.
Monday-Wednesday will be three full days of competition, while Thursday will be a half day and conclude with an awards ceremony at 1 p.m.
The camp will be run by PHS boys’ coach Mike Heny alongside NWC men’s coach Andy Ward, as well as other instruction coming from Trapper student athletes.
“We will take anyone interested in working to get better,” Heny said.
Those interested in an application for the tournament can email coachheny@gmail.com or andy.ward@nwc.edu.
