Join the Meeteetse Museums for its annual outdoor concert Friday evening, featuring the music of Prairie Wildfire. The concert will begin at 6 p.m. on the lawn between the Meeteetse Museums and the Bank Museum, 1947 State St.
Prairie Wildfire, from Buffalo, sings bluegrass in the heart of cowboy country. With lead singer Sage Palser on mandolin, Morgan Blaney on bass and Tessa Taylor on banjo, the trio offers tight harmonies and original instrumentation. The ladies have built a substantial resume, performing at festivals, in the historic Occidental Saloon, at dude ranches and at venues throughout the region. The girls have opened for Greg Blake, Front Country, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades and Dale Ann Bradley at the Occidental Saloon’s January Jam.
Mentored by songwriter David Stewart (“True Grass,” “Blue Moon over Texas,” “Key of Love”), the girls are “frequent flyers” at the renowned Occidental Thursday Night Jam.
There will not be a food truck at the concert, with the museums encouraging concertgoers to support Meeteetse’s restaurants. Attendees should bring their own seating, water and sunscreen. The concert will last roughly an hour-and-a-half.
