Back Country Horsemen still planning State Rendezvous

The Pathfinder chapter of the Back Country Horsemen is still planning to hold the annual State Rendezvous at Happy Jack Trailhead, near Laramie, from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, Aug. 2. The Powell Tribune previously reported, incorrectly, that the event had been canceled.

The event is the celebration of all Wyoming chapters of the Back Country Horsemen of America and will include trail rides, games, an obstacle course, meals, church on Sunday morning and guided rides both Saturday and Sunday.

“When riding a horse or a mule, you can’t get closer than 6 feet,” said former chapter president and founder Bill Hackney.

For those interested in registering, event planners are taking payment by credit card and already have a plan ready for refunds in case the event actually does need to be canceled.
