The American Legion is hosting a fundraiser Saturday to help a Lovell 12-year-old with ties to Powell who is on dialysis awaiting a kidney transplant.
Organizer Patty Paulsen said Nevaeh Reynosa was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that has attacked her kidneys. Paulsen knows her mother, Cataline Reynosa, who is raising four children as a single mother. Paulsen said Reynosa came back from taking her daughter to Denver recently with the knowledge of how to do home dialysis. Fellow organizer Diane Miller said Nevaeh just wants to be home as she awaits word on a new kidney.
In the meantime, Paulsen and Miller have put together an event to raise funds for the family and Nevaeh’s care.
The event starts at 11 a.m. and the karaoke begins at 5 p.m. There will be live and silent auctions, tacos, nachos, quesadillas, baked goods and desserts, and a talent show. Entry is $10 with all proceeds going to the family.
