A bit of bear leavings

Dear Editor:

Once again a politician, our governor, is treating us as a collection of village idiots. It is the clown act that we as a country have become so good at falling for, and it works. All they have to do is, with one hand point at some HOT, relatively insignificant (at least in terms of the larger well-being of our community, state, country) say BEARS, or an issue that should be one of personal choice, and while we are distracted and yelling at each other, the clown with the other hand is taking away bit by bit our livelihood and our personal freedoms while ignoring the tasks we elected them to do. They seem to have but one agenda: to be re-elected — and they will say anything, true or false to that end.

Our president is a genius at it and we must never confuse it with ineptness. It is all rehearsed, as all acts are.

Now we hear our governor taking up the act. Yes, there are bear issues and they need to be addressed, but they are small compared to the big issues that face our country and our state. To his credit he did speak to a couple critical issues, water and energy, but with no comments on how, with the decline in state revenue, he expects to address them or, for that matter, what his plans are for any of the many critical issues almost all of which relate to our state’s declining revenues. Addressing and finding answers to those issues is what we elected him to do and he jokes “this job couldn’t be easier,” then let us hear what you are going to do. We do not need another clown act. We need real, even if they are hard, answers and someone willing to say them.

And don’t let the bear issue distract you: The Trump administration does not care about bears. They have had four years to do something and apparently have not. Frankly, it is also a very poor reason for electing a president.
