10 Cowboys work out for NFL teams

University of Wyoming held its annual NFL Pro Day on Tuesday and the interest in former Cowboys was high, as 23 NFL teams were represented to work out 10 draft-eligible Pokes.

The 10 former Cowboys were: punter Ryan Galovich, defensive end Josiah Hall, cornerback/kick returner Tyler Hall, safety Alijah Halliburton, tight end Josh Harshman, wide receiver Raghib Ismail Jr., linebacker Cassh Maluia, wide receiver John Okwoli, kicker Cooper Rothe and linebacker Logan Wilson.

The draft-eligible players were tested by NFL scouts in a series of drills. One highlight came when Hall was timed as fast as 4.38 seconds in the 40-yard dash; that would have tied for the fifth-fastest time at this year’s NFL Combine.

Following the testing, several Cowboys were requested for individual meetings with representatives from multiple NFL teams.

“From six years ago to now, it’s been very encouraging to see the growth in the interest of our program by NFL teams,” said Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl.

Harshman and Wilson are Wyoming natives, who both played their high school football at Natrona County High School in Casper.

“It certainly makes me proud,” said Bohl. “If I had a quarter for every time somebody told me you can’t win with Wyoming players, I’d be a pretty wealthy guy. Our two Wyoming guys did well today.”

The 2020 NFL Draft will be held April 23-25 in Las Vegas. Wyoming had 13 former Cowboys on NFL rosters for the 2019 season.
