Richard J. (Rick) Shrope, 69, of Cody, passed away suddenly on Dec. 13, 2018, at his home in Cody.
Rick was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on July 12, 1949, to Raymond and Jean Shrope, the youngest of three siblings. He graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1968. He went on to work as a plumber for Local 190 in Michigan. Rick’s career was spent as a painter and he was very talented in the industry.
Rick met Sandi Fendt in 1985 in Hell (yes, really), Michigan and they were married in 1992. They moved to Cody in 2000 to be close to Sandi’s family. Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing in Wyoming’s beautiful mountains, lakes, and streams. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Powell.
Rick is survived by his wife Sandi; stepson Brook Schuster of Cody; brother Garry (Vicky) Shrope of Michigan and sister Linda (Frank Pizzo) Barnes of Michigan; and two nephews.
Memorial services will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Powell on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at 11 a.m. A memorial page is available at www.BallardFH.com.
