Park County residents will gather for two pro-life events in coming weeks.

The annual Pro-Life March and Rally takes place Saturday in Cody. Participants will meet in front of the Park County Courthouse at 11 a.m., then march to a memorial for the unborn at Riverside Cemetery. Transportation will be provided back to the courthouse, and a luncheon will follow at St. Anthony’s Church in Cody.

Park County Right to Life organizers say the event is held “to commemorate 47 years of legalized slaughter of over 62 million innocent unborn children.”

The following weekend, a similar pro-life event will take place in Powell. Stand for Life begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Washington Park in Powell. Organizers invite those who “believe that the lives of children in the womb are of the same value and worth as all human life.”

“We will gather to affirm the biblical position on life, pledge ourselves to stand with God for life, pray that our nation will recognize abortion for what it is and turn away from it, and ask for God’s forgiveness where we have failed to do our part,” organizers said.

In addition, there will be an opportunity to support Serenity Pregnancy Resource Center and information about other ways people can stand for life throughout the year.
