Marlette Samantha Cauffman died Oct. 9, 2016. She was 45.

She was born on Dec. 21, 1970, in Powell. Sammie spent her elementary years in Otto, Emblem and Burlington. Her favorite teacher in elementary was Mr. Miller, her sixth-grade teacher, which she had fond memories of playing flag football with every recess.

She graduated from Burlington High School in 1989. Her passion was helping others, which led to her favorite occupation of being an EMT, which she did for many years.

Sammie met and married her first spouse Kenny Kemper. While married to Kenny, they moved to Moorcroft and ran a bait shop. From there, they moved to Gillette and she was employed in the landscaping business.

After returning to Burlington, she and Kenny moved to the Cauffman farm to help take care of her mother. After her mother’s death, she and Kenny divorced. She moved to Cody and met and married her current spouse Michelle. She was Michelle’s best friend and the love of her life. Sammie never knew a stranger, she loved everyone and everyone loved her.

Sammie is survived by her spouse Michelle; Michelle’s two children, Dean Ballinger and Kenny (Nicole) Stott; Dean and Nicole’s son Brody; her father Kenneth; brothers Raymond (Dory) Cauffman; sisters, Kelly (Lee) Allen and Melodi Allen; and brother Terry (Francine) Cauffman; several nieces, nephews, close cousins on both sides of her family, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

Sammie was loved by so many, too numerous to name.

She was preceded in death by her mother Marlea, aunt Patti, cousins Travis and Ty Aagard, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. at Ballard Funeral Home.

An online memorial is available at www.ballardfh.com.
