Geraldine ‘Jeri’ Farmer Underwood

Geraldine “Jeri” Farmer Underwood died Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Powell Valley Hospital, while surrounded by her family. She was 86.

Jeri was born June 21, 1930, in Cowley, to Duard and Gretna (Smith) Farmer. She graduated from Powell High School in 1948. Jeri graduated from Nursing School at Carroll College and St. Vincent Hospital in 1951.

She married Frank Dustin in 1952. They were divorced in 1962. Three children were born from this union: Michael, Kelly and Donna Sue Dustin.

Jeri married Harold Underwood in 1964.

Jeri dedicated her life to helping others. She worked as a nurse until she was 75. During these years, she worked for Northern Pacific Railroad Hospital in Missoula, Montana, the Naval Hospital in Key West, Florida, Cody and Powell hospitals, Powell nursing home, Sheridan V.A. Hospital and Big Horn Enterprises.

Jeri will be remembered for her kind heart and witty sense of humor.

Jeri was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael Dustin, daughter Kelly Dustin, brother and sister-in-law Harold and Francie Farmer and many aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her husband Harold; daughter Donna Sue; sister Donna (Norm) Meidinger; granddaughters Rebecca (Patrick) Croft and Danielle Dustin; daughter-in-law Gayle Dustin; and great-granddaughters Madilyn and Kaylee Croft.

A celebration of life for Jeri will be held Saturday, May 6, at Powell Valley Care Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
