Charlie Hardy isn’t a typical candidate.

Hardy, a Democrat seeking his party’s nomination for the Senate seat now held by Sen. Mike Enzi, a three-term Republican, stopped in Powell Tuesday. He did a meet-and-greet event at the Park County Fairgrounds and came to the Powell Tribune office for an extended interview.

Thumbs up to the Wyoming Legislature for completing an efficient 2014 budget session.

The Legislature adjourned on March 6 after completing its assigned task, passing a $3.3-billion budget for the next two fiscal years. That’s a day earlier than was scheduled.

Thumbs up to the transformation of the old Southside Elementary School into the new Trinity Bible Church. The church purchased the facility last summer, and we’re pleased to see it take on new life and a new look. For more than 50 years, thousands of Powell residents attended school in the building or worked there.

Coach Chase Kistler was very pleased with his team’s performance last weekend, as the Powell High School boys’ basketball team rolled to a pair of easy wins on its home court.
