Boys eye top three state finish
After seeing a fantastic, if somewhat unexpected, performance at the 3A West Conference meet Feb. 9, fans of the Powell High School swimming and diving team will be rooting for an equally impressive encore this weekend.
The Panthers will travel to Gillette Thursday afternoon for the 3A State Championship meet. The two-day meet will pit state qualifiers from 11 Wyoming 3A schools.
Coming off a second place conference finish in front of their home crowd, the Panther swimmers are faster than they’ve been all season. Powell will boast a 13-man squad, each of whom swam at least one personal best time at conference.

“They were pretty motivated to swim in front of their home town,” said assistant coach Jerry Rodriguez. “Being home and rested, and not traveling…that definitely helps any team.”

All joking (aside): Singled out: without Jenny McCarthy
Of my six years in Sacramento, I’d say about a total of four of them were spent as a single man*, and for the most part, it was awesome.
I had the same roommate/best friend for most of those years and he, too, spent most of his days sans-girlfriend. This made for many awesome “guy nights” that played something like a drawn-out movie party montage complete with beer, laughter, fruit-chucking (NOT a euphemism!) and beer.
