The boys of summer (school)

In life, as in baseball, everybody experiences setbacks. Some are small, some are demoralizing, and some take up a month of your summer.

It was supposed to be a dramatic clash between two cross-county rivals. Instead, it quickly became a one-sided laugher that wasn’t even as close as the lopsided score.

Vogt K-outs Lovell Mustangs

Frankie Vogt struck out 19 batters in a complete-game one-hitter Tuesday night, Matt Sweet drove in two runs and the Powell Pioneers beat the Lovell Mustangs 7-1 in the first league game of the season.

 

When I was in elementary school, pro wrestling was a pretty big deal.

Current physical education teacher and former Panthers freshman boys basketball coach Chase Kistler has been chosen to replace Mike Heny as head coach of Powell’s varsity team. It will be Kistler’s first time as a varsity head coach.
