Wolves could be delisted and hunted in Wyoming by fall 2012 under a plan hashed out this summer by Wyoming Gov. Matt Mead, Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe.
Fish and Wildlife will publish a preliminary rule delisting Wyoming wolves in October.
Updated 11:45 a.m., Thursday, Friday update here: The air outside smelled of smoke Tuesday night, while inside the Clark Pioneer Community Center, local firefighters assured Clark residents they were doing their best to protect them and their property.
The Hole in the Wall Fire, which reached 4,491 acres on Wednesday, is burning north of Bennett and Line creek drainages in the Shoshone National Forest, about eight miles northwest of Clark.
Although SkyWest Airlines announced it would pull its Salt Lake City service from Yellowstone Regional Airport in late September, the airline is mandated to continue its flights to and from Cody until another regional carrier replaces it.
SkyWest, flying to Salt Lake City for Delta Airlines, announced in late June it would end flights from Cody because it wasn’t making a profit.
