Police have located an 11-year-old girl who had reportedly been taken from Cody on Monday evening, according to a message from the Emergency Broadcast System.

The Amber Alert for the girl was cancelled at a little after 9 p.m., about two-and-a-half hours after it was issued.

Cody police told CBS News Channel 5 in Cheyenne that Katelynn was "alright" and found in Cody, according to a Facebook posting by one of the channel's reporters.

"Please keep her in your thoughts," said Cody Police Officer John Harris in a Monday night posting on Facebook. Harris confirmed that the girl was alive, but gave no other information.

The original information, released to media on Monday night by Cody police, stated that the 11-year-old had last been seen getting into a newer white four-door Toyota at the Park County Library. The alert had said a 55- to 60-year-old white man enticed the girl into the vehicle under the auspices of looking for his dog.

Editor's note: This version removes the girl's name.
