Park County Commissioners are expanding and changing the job description of the fair director, but they don’t want to change the position’s pay.

It wasn’t the regional title that the Powell High School girls basketball team had hoped for, but it was close.

Connie O’Connor stood before the judge last April and was posed a relatively straightforward question about the nearly $365,000 she’d taken from friends and family.

It was a stellar regular season for the Lady Panther basketball team, but “we start brand new now,” said head coach Scott McKenzie. “We have to come ready to go this weekend.”

Cody nurse stands charged with sexually assaulting a patient while she was unconscious and undergoing surgery earlier this year.

The man was arrested Monday on a charge of first-degree sexual assault and made his first court appearance Tuesday morning in Park County Circuit Court in Cody.

Federal authorities say they should get to keep the plane and nearly $260,000 in cash seized from two Coloradans who flew into Cody a year ago — claiming the items were involved in trafficking drugs. One of the men, meanwhile, says he and the property were not involved in illegal activity and that the items should be returned to him.

Fair board members unhappy with change set for this summer

The director of the Park County Fair could be out of a job by July, as county commissioners intend to eliminate her position to a create a new, bigger one.

The Powell Police Department is hoping the third time will be the charm as it looks for a new police officer.

It was a different court, but the result was about the same.

The Powell High School girls basketball team beat Lander Valley High School 53-34 on Saturday in Lander, nearly repeating last month’s 56-34 win at home.
