A Powell woman is facing allegations that she helped her boyfriend manufacture methamphetamine last summer.

PHS girls look to defend title

Coming off the first championship in school history, the Powell High School girls basketball team has prepared for the upcoming season with something basic: hard work.

A Powell hunter was shot in the upper leg Sunday morning. On Sunday evening, authorities were continuing to investigate what happened.

"The shooting allegedly occurred while the victim was hunting deer inside Big Horn County," said a news release from Park County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lance Mathess.

For negligently causing a fatal crash north of Powell in March, a Cowley woman will lose a year’s worth of driving privileges, pay a fine and be held responsible for the deceased’s funeral costs.

“I apologize, you know, for trying to shoot myself and all the people that it hurt in the process,” Joseph Underwood told the judge. “I just would like to get to treatment to get the help I need.”

A community paid tribute to a military service dog on Wednesday; a Powell veteran said goodbye to his “brother, protector, co-pilot and best friend.”

Authorities are seeking the arrests of a Lovell couple who allegedly walked out of the Cody Wal-Mart with three stolen TVs and other items back in August. Cody police say a store manager stopped the couple on their third trip out of the store, as they tried to take a fourth television.
