Thumbs up to agricultural producers and the work underway in local fields. National Agriculture Week is recognized March 15-21, and we want to take a moment to celebrate local farmers and ranchers.

Going into the state speech and debate tournament, the Panthers were small in number. But that didn’t stop them from coming home as the leaders of the pack. The Powell High School team claimed the 3A state championship on Saturday in Buffalo.

Old building, new purpose; Students, staff settling into renovated Support Services Building

After sitting vacant and dark in recent years, part of the old Powell High School building has a new look and new purpose.

While some neighboring communities have experienced declines in their public school enrollment, the Powell school district has continued growing over the past 10 years.

BYRON — On an autumn day in 1933, Ed and Jeri (Pryde) NeVille promised to love and cherish one another as husband and wife.

They have kept that promise for more than 81 years.

To help seventh-grade students better understand what happens in the Wyoming Legislature, Northwest College President Stefani Hicswa started with “Schoolhouse Rock.” In the 1970s “I’m Just a Bill” video, an animated bill moves between committees in the House of Representatives and Senate, singing about the legislative process as he moves along.

Southside Elementary School keeps shining.

The elementary school, whose motto is Southside Shines, recently was listed as one of the top schools in the country by TheBestSchools.org, an independent organization.

As she returned to Wyoming, Theresa Pike repeated a single word: “Hallelujah.”

She is finally home.
