The Northwest College Lady Trapper basketball team secured the No. 2 position in the Region IX North with an 86-64 win over Gillette College on Feb. 21 and a 69-50 win over Sheridan College on Saturday.

Seven members of the Northwest College wrestling team are heading to Council Bluffs, Iowa, this week for the NJCAA National Championships.

The Northwest College women’s basketball team beat Miles Community College on Wednesday, Feb. 14 and lost to Casper College on Saturday, giving the Lady Trappers a 9-3 Region IX record and 21-7 overall record.

The Powell High School swim team took third at last week’s 3A State Swim and Dive Championships in Laramie, with senior Hudson Wilkerson claiming the state championship title in diving.

The Powell High School wrestling team finished as the runners-up among the eight teams that competed in the 3A West Regional wrestling tournament in Lyman over the weekend.

The Lady Panthers basketball team locked up the top spot in the Class 3A West’s northern quadrant over the weekend, beating Lander on Friday and Riverton on Saturday.

The Northwest College wrestling team competed in the Rocky Mountain District Championships in Rock Springs Saturday, placing second as a team with three first place finishers, four second place finishers and a third place finish.
