Football practice for the Panthers will run from 6 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
For Panther swimming, practice will run in a two-a-day format at the Powell Aquatic Center. The morning session starts at 7:45 a.m. and runs until 10 a.m. Swimmers will return to the pool at 3:45 p.m. and continue their workout through 6 p.m.
The Powell volleyball program will also hold two-a-days to begin the fall season. The morning session for the Panther spikers will begin at 6:30 a.m. Afternoon sessions start at 4 p.m. Both workouts will take place in the Powell High School gymnasium.
The Panthers’ golf team will look to take the first steps toward a repeat boys’ state title performance when they gather at the Powell Golf Club. Practice sessions will begin at 4 p.m.
The Panthers’ cross country team will gather in the PHS Commons at 8 a.m. before taking a walk across the street to Homesteader Park to begin their first workout. Panther tennis team members will hold two-a-days at the high school tennis courts. Morning workouts start at 7 a.m. Afternoon workouts start at 4 p.m.
Powell High School cheerleaders will get their start to the year at 4 p.m. in the PHS Commons. Practices will run through 5:30 p.m.
The Powell Athletic Roundtable will hold a dinner fundraiser at 6 p.m. on Monday at the PHS Commons. The fundraiser will be followed by the all-sport parents’ meeting, which is required for the parents of all athetes. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Following the all-sports meeting, individual sport parent meetings will also take place throughout the high school.
Fall competition for Powell High School begins on Aug. 16-17 when the PHS golf teams begin a new athletic year at the Riverton Invitational. The remainder of the Panther teams will get their first taste of competition the weekend of Aug. 24-25.
