Professional tennis instructor Jon Park in town Aug. 11-12
Powell High School graduate and former collegiate tennis player Jon Park will return to Powell on Aug. 11-12 to conduct a tennis clinic in his former home community. Park is now a teaching professional in The Woodlands, Texas.
“This is an opportunity for him to come and give something back to his home town and his former program,” Powell High School tennis coach Ray Bieber said of Park.
Park played for former PHS tennis coach Keith Bloom.
The clinic will run from 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 11 and from 8:30-11:30 a.m. on Aug. 12 at the Powell High School tennis courts. Instruction will cover a variety of issues, including persoanl match play preparation, drills, winning strategies and helpful tennis resources.
The clinic is open to both middle school and high school students.
The cost is $10 for registration and participants are asked to sign up by Aug. 9.
