Camp for grades 3-9

The Panther basketball boys’ skills camp will take place June 20-23 at Powell High School. The camp provides an opportunity for boys in grades 3-9 to learn about basketball fundamentals.

Powell High School boys’ basketball coach Mike Heny will oversee the camp. Grades 3-6 will hold sessions from 9-11:30 a.m. each of the four days. Grades 7-9 will hold afternoon sessions from 1-4:30 p.m.

Campers will receive instruction in shooting mechanics and technique, footwork, balance, body control, individual and team defense, ball handling, live ball moves, passing and team play and strategy.

The camp is designed to lay the foundation for success within the Panther basketball program and establishing practice habits and an understanding of the key components of team play.

The cost to register is $40 for grades 3-6 and $50 for grades 7-9. Campers in the younger grades will receive a camp basketball.

Those in the older divisions will receive a T-shirt. Individual awards will also be given.

To register or for more information, contact Heny at 202-1410 or email to mwh@pcsd1.net.
