(1913 - Nov. 12, 2008)Sabatella (Mango) Machietto, 95, of Powell and formerly of Westfield and Upton, Mass, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, at home after a period of declining health. She was the widow of David Machietto, who died in 1995 after 50 years of marriage.Sabatella was born in Naples, Italy, a daughter of the late Carmino and Vincenza (Avoila) Mango. She came to the United States in infancy and lived in Portland, Maine until age 12, when the family moved to Upton. She attended the former Framingham Normal School and graduated from Worcester State College. She was an elementary school teacher for more than 40 years, teaching first in Upton and then at the Russell Elementary School in Russell, Mass., before retiring in 1985. She lived in Westfield for many years before returning to Upton and then recently moved to Wyoming to live with her daughter. She was a communicant of Holy Angels Church in Upton and a member of the Upton Woman's Club.She leaves one daughter, Jo-Ann Marquis and her husband David, and a sister, Rose Mango, all of Powell; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sisterandfive brothers.Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 21, from the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, 45 Main St., Upton, Mass. with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Upton. A calling hour at the funeral home will be prior to the Mass from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Powell Valley Hospice, 777 Avenue H, Powell, WY 82435.Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
