Senior Olivia Rogers has been named the most valuable player for Powell High School Lady Panther volleyball team.

Coach Cindi Smith announced the team awards at this month’s awards program.

A four-year starter for the Lady Panthers, Rogers was named to the 3A All State team for the second time and the All West Conference team for the third time this year.

Rogers has also been selected to play for the North in the Wyoming Coaches Association All Star game this summer.

Rogers has been among the leaders in nearly every offensive and defensive statistic during her career. This year she led the team in kills and is one of it’s most accurate servers on offense, and among the leaders in digs on defense.

Senior libero Hannah Groves was honored as the Lady Panthers’ most inspirational player for the second straight year. Groves was also recognized for receiving honorable mention on the All Conference team.

Senior Randi Asay and sophomore Kadi Cooley also received All Conference honorable mention.

Cooley was named the Lady Panthers’ ultimate team player for the season, and her fellow sophomore, Becky Dent was named the most improved. Junior Lacy Ebersberger received the award for highest serving percentage.

Junior Varsity awards went to Ebersberger for most inspirational player, Dent for most improved and Abby Hotovec for ultimate team player. Jessica Lewis was the most inspirational player for the freshman team. Haley Wichman was named the ultimate team player and Machenzie Schneider was the most improved.

The Lady Panthers went 24-11-3 last season, and finished third in the West Region Tournament, but were eliminated from the state tournament in two matches.

Sophomore Becky Dent was named the most improved player and fellow sophomore Kadi Cooley was honored as the ultimate team player.
