Whether you’re a seasoned triathlete or a first-time runner, you can participate in a variety of local events this summer.

Costs vary for the races. Some races measure in kilometers and some by miles — 5 kilometers is 3.1 miles and 10 kilometers is 6.2 miles.

Powell Aquatic Center Triathlon: May 28

Swim 500 yards, bike 15.5 miles, run 3.1 miles. The race can be done solo or as a team event. Race starts at 8 a.m.

Dano’lope’ Dash: June 4

Dash 1 mile,  walk/run 5K or 10K run, starting at the Park County Fairgrounds in Powell. Race starts at 7 a.m.

Registration closes May 28 for a guaranteed shirt on race day.

Powell Rec/Plaza Diane Color Run: June 25

Walk 2K or run 5K during the Powell High School Alumni Weekend. Race starts at 8 a.m.

Register by June 17 for a guaranteed shirt. Race day registration at 7:30 a.m.

Bighorn Canyon Triathlon: July 2

Swim 800 yards, bike 10.2 miles and run 3.1 miles. The race can be done solo or as a team. Race starts at 7:30 a.m. The triathlon will be at Barry’s Landing.

Registration is discounted if you sign up before June 15.

Coast to the Future: July 30

A fun bike ride to benefit Bright Futures Mentoring Program. Ride 30 miles, 60 miles or anything in between on the beautiful South Fork of the Shoshone River.

Race starts at 7 a.m. Registration closes July 25. Late registrations accepted the morning of the event, but the cost increases and T-shirt size cannot be guaranteed.

Sugar Beet Classic: Aug. 20

5K run, solo triathlon and team triathlon in the Powell area.

Race starts at 8 a.m.
