Powell High School midfielder Aimee Kawano was named to the Class 3A West All-Conference team, which was announced May 27.
Kawano was the only member of the PHS girls’ soccer team to receive postseason honors.
Kawano led the Panthers with seven goals and often created scoring chances for her teammates with her deft footwork.
The junior was Powell’s most reliable ball-handler and could control possession while her teammates tried to find space for open shots.
Kawano overcame illness in the days leading up to the Class 3A state tournament in Jackson and scored Powell’s first goal against Cody May 23.
