The internet has opened up a world of shopping opportunities for people in rural towns like ours, but it’s a double-edged sword that cuts into communities in multiple ways. Beyond local retailers receiving less business and dollars leaving the local economy, under the current set-up, Wyoming’s governments also lose out on sales tax dollars to maintain or improve their towns, cities and counties.
