A 49-year-old Cowley woman was murdered on Thursday. Authorities say Carol J. Barnes of Cowley was stabbed to death by her ex-husband, Donald J. Crouse, at his apartment in Lovell. In the week leading up to the murder, Crouse, 48, reportedly wrote notes saying that it was his “mission” to kill his former wife and that he’d “backed out” of earlier plans to kill her.
