Thanks to the Powell Rotary Club, Santa again arrived downtown by helicopter, rekindling a tradition of his arrival the day after Thanksgiving.

Although evaluators won’t visit the campus for almost an entire year, Northwest College is continuing to prepare for reaccreditation with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).

Coming storm expected to drop temps, bring snow

Three incumbents — Deb Kleinfeldt, Larry Parker and Bonita Katz — won re-election Tuesday to four-year terms in their seats on the Powell Hospital District Board of Trustees, defeating challenger Robert Murphy.

On Thursday afternoon, the Park County Elections Office announced that Gerri Ackley received the most write-in votes to claim a two-year seat on the board.

Despite expectations of a slight increase in enrollment at Northwest College this fall, a report shows the number of students attending the college is actually down slightly from last year.

Let’s face it. Infrastructure isn’t exciting. It’s often unremarkable or out of sight, and it can be overlooked.

When the Park County Commission was asked last week to support a legislative rider that would delist gray wolves in Wyoming and prohibit further litigation, commissioners enthusiastically signed on the dotted line.
