First, the snow kept falling — storm after storm after storm, since before Christmas.

A recent proposal to merge the Powell Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Powell Economic Partnership has possible merit, and we believe it deserves more discussion and consideration.

Yet another snowstorm dumped snow over Powell Monday evening through Wednesday morning in what could be the first part of a double-whammy.

Gillette College women’s basketball team members escape serious injury

A bus driver and four members of the Gillette College women’s basketball team were transported to West Park Hospital in Cody Saturday night after the bus they were in collided with three cows and a power pole.

Old Man Winter still has a strong grip on Powell and the surrounding area, evidenced by an estimated 6-7 inches of snow dumped by another blizzard-like storm Tuesday night and Wednesday.

My daughter, Julie Cheatham, and her husband Warren lost their little cabin near Greybull when it was engulfed in flames just before noon on Wednesday, Dec. 28. But, by the grace of God, they and their five children are all safe and well.

Session will affect all state residents

Today is the first day of the 64th Wyoming Legislature, with opening ceremonies scheduled for noon in both the Wyoming House of Representatives and the Wyoming Senate.
