Russell A. Floan, 86, a Billings native who returned here a year ago to live, died Thursday, July 23 of cancer. He was the third of four children of Alfred and Eunice (Ackelmire) Floan. His parents moved while he was a toddler to Gardiner, where his family had longtime ties with Yellowstone Park; and then to Powell, where they owned a grocery store and where he was graduated from high school.

James Edward “Eddie” Irion was born Nov. 24th, 1925 in Miles City, Mont., the son of Glen and Carrie (Steadman) Irion. He died in the early morning of July 13th after a six-day stay at the Horizon Hospice Home in Billings. He had previously been diagnosed with MDS, a precursor to leukemia.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29 at 10 a.m. at Union Presbyterian Church for longtime Whistle Creek resident, Eva Flona (Losey) Yonts who died Monday, June 22 at the Powell Valley Care Center at the age of 94. The Rev. George Pasek will officiate at services at the church, and burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
