Beverly Brown of Cody, died peacefully July 31, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 48.

Beverly was born on May 2, 1964 in Abilene, Texas, to Hugh and Wanda Burleson. She was the youngest of four children. Beverly grew up in Clyde, Texas, where she played basketball and tennis in high school. She moved to Corpus Christi and then to Houston where she was an administrative assistant at KPMG. 

While in Houston she met the love of her life, Troy Brown. 

Beverly’s greatest joy was her daughter Olivia, whom she dearly loved. She cherished their moments together playing video games, with stuffed animals, and going to the movies.

Troy, Beverly, and Olivia moved to Cody in 2009, where Beverly worked part-time for Iron Creek Energy and Nielson and Associates. 

Beverly was full of compassion and always enjoyed helping others. She was a wonderful wife and mother who enjoyed camping, bicycling, reading, doing arts and crafts and playing Bunko. She will be remembered for her bright and friendly personality, and dearly missed by her family and friends.

Beverly is survived by her husband Troy; daughter Olivia; father Hugh Burleson of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters Belinda (Butch) Slates of Houston, Texas, Bonnie McNeill of Castle Rock, Colo., and Kaye DeLeon of Houston, Texas; and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Wanda and both maternal and paternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Cody with Pastor Pat Montgomery officiating with a burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. 

Memorial donations can be made in Beverly’s name to the Spirit Mountain Hospice House or The Presbyterian Church Deacon’s Fund.
