Raymond Peter Krier of Cody died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at West Park Hospital Long Term Care Center in Cody. He was age 91.

Raymond was born on Sept. 11, 1920, in Shakopee, Minn., a son of Margaret (Lebons) and Peter Joseph Krier. After graduating from high school, he married Lucille Helen Tift on Oct. 23, 1945. For the remainder of World War II, he was stationed at Camp Fanning, Texas. After his discharge, he and Lucille returned to Wisconsin where they had three sons, Steven, George, and Randy. Ray and Lucille spent many years farming and running dairy farms until they moved to Cody in 1976, where he worked for Husky Oil for many years. For the following eight years, they worked at the Two Dot Ranch and Coe Lodge as caretakers until their retirement.

Lucille passed away in 1995. In 1997, Ray met and married Ethel Hahn of Sheridan. He and Ethel enjoyed 17 years together, dancing, camping, traveling and enjoying their life in Cody.

Ray loved music and was an accomplished accordion player. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. An excellent conversationalist, Ray always made new friends wherever he went and never met a stranger.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lucille; and sisters, Bertilla, Lorraine, and Roselyn.

Survivors include his wife Ethel Krier; three sons: Steven, George, and Randy (Jan); brother Larry (Rachel); step-daughter Anna Riethmiller (Robert) of Arizona; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 11 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3401 Sheridan Ave., Cody with Rev. Audrey Rydbom officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Honor Guard.
