Jeanie M. Good died July 6, 2012 at Spirit Mountain Hospice in Cody. She was 85.

Jeanie was born Dec. 12, 1926 in Worland to Elma (Taylor) and Charles Orviss Blakesley. Her family moved across the Big Horn Basin many times in search of work during the Great Depression. Jeanie attended school mainly in Hyattville and graduated from Greybull High School in May of 1945. That same month, she enlisted in the Army Cadet Nurse Corps and began training at Montana State College in Bozeman, Mont. After various affiliations with hospitals in Montana and Wyoming, she graduated and became a registered nurse in 1948.

Jeanie married the love of her life, Dale Good, at the Methodist church in Basin on June 30, 1948. The couple settled on their homestead on the Heart Mountain project, constructing their house using salvaged barracks from the Heart Mountain Relocation Camp. Here, they raised four children: Jerry, Nancy, Ron and Mike.

Jeanie began her nursing career at Cody Hospital in 1950. She worked there for 10 years, and then went on to office nursing to allow her to spend more time with her children. Jeanie worked for 12 different physicians in Cody, retiring in 2003. She spent a total of 53 years in nursing and has said that she never wanted to be anything else but a nurse.

Jeanie enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, dancing and socializing with a wide circle of friends. She also loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jeanie was an avid rock collector, and her family would bring her specimens from their travels across America and the world.

Survivors include sons Jerry (Kathy) Good, Ron Good (and Victoria Spry) and Mike (Julie) Good; daughter Nancy (Jerry) Evagelatos; sister Fran (Allen) McCumber; brother-in-law Ray Wilson; sister-in-law Sarah Good; grandchildren Sean (Rae) Good, Jared Whitney, Heather (Joshua) Robertson, Jesse (Lacy) Good, Kimberly (Gavin) Beck, Aryn Good and Nichole Good; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and “adopted” children and grandchildren.

Interment of cremains is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, July 14 at Riverside Cemetery in Cody. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cody with Pastor Audrey Rydbom officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Jeanie Good Nursing Scholarship, Northwest College Foundation, 231 W. Sixth St., Powell, WY 82435.
