Betty Ann Boyce of Delta, Colo., died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at home. She was 80.

Betty was born on Feb. 13, 1932 in Byron to George Washington and Ruth (Neilson) Hecht.

Betty spent her childhood in Powell, and graduated from Powell High School with the Class of 1950. She attended the University of Colorado, where she obtained her bachelor degree in education. Betty went on to obtain her master degree in education from the University of Denver. Betty taught for many years at Cunningham Elementary School in Aurora, Colo.

Betty was a Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. She also enjoyed art work, painting and drawing, stamp collecting, making cards, sewing, crocheting, knitting, mending and making baby bootees, and book clubs.

Among survivors is the love of her life, her husband Clifford G. Boyce of Delta, Colo.; her mother Ruth Hecht of Delta; three sons Golden (Debbie) Boyce of Austin, Colo., Mark (Marge) Boyce of Paonia, Colo., and Stephen (Dawn) Boyce of Paonia, Colo.; one daughter; Karen (Wayne) Witt of Edgewood, N.M.; brother Harry Hecht of Brookings, S.D.; and sister-in-law Jackie Hecht of Powell; son-in-law Randy Jones of Littleton, Colo.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her father George Washington Hecht; and a daughter, Ruth Ann Jones; brother Robert Hecht; and sister-in-law Glenda Hecht.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Delta, Colo. Interment followed at the Delta City Cemetery.
