Darwin O. Cramer

Darwin O. Cramer of Powell died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Powell Valley Care Center. He was 94.

Darwin was born Feb. 9, 1918 in Vernal, Utah to Megdlene T. Nielsen and Eric A. Cramer.

Darwin enlisted in the U.S. Army in August 1940, He served in World War II in the 373 Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion, in the Pacific Theater. He served until November 1945.

On Aug. 27, 1948, Darwin and Marguerite M. James were married in Red Lodge, Mont. They lived in Greybull, Cody, Sidney, Nebr., and Powell. He was employed with Marathon Oil Company for 43 years.

Darwin enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting, reading, working in his lawn and garden. He was a member of the Elks.

Darwin was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite; both parents; brother Oren Cramer and sisters Marjorie Reid and Kathleen Shores.

He is survived by son James D. (Judy) Cramer of Thermopolis, daughter Connie (Thomas) Tucker of Sheridan, and grandchildren Ryan Tucker of Townsville, Australia, John Cramer, and Jennifer Cramer, both of Thermopolis.

Private family services will be held with burial in Greybull. Memorials may be made to the Elks Scholarship for Greybull, Wyo.
