Amie Jean Dominguez of Dayton died Monday, June 4, 2012 as a result of a car accident outside of Sheridan. She was 31.
Amie was born May 29, 1981 in Worland to Donna (Ramirez) Dominguez and Bill Dominguez.
Amie was the middle child and had two brothers, Richard, the oldest, and Levi, the youngest. She grew up in Powell for most of her childhood. Her family moved to the Tongue River community when she was in the fifth grade. She graduated from Tongue River High School in 1999 as member of the National Honor Society. During her school years she enjoyed volleyball, drama, and speech. She was known as the social butterfly during her high school days. Following high school, Amie attended Northwest College in Powell and received her associate degree in education. Amie was on the NWC speech team where she received numerous awards. She continued her education at Montana State University-Billings, receiving her bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing in 2009.
Through her caring nature, Amie made friends wherever she went. Everyone knew her for her beautiful smile and her waitress voice. She had the ability of making anyone laugh during any situation. She spent most of her career in the restaurant business. Most recently, she was a manager at Wyoming Rib and Chop House in Sheridan. Amie’s family and friends played a big part in her life, always coming before anything else. Despite a busy schedule, she always found time to be with those closest to her.
Amie loved catching fish and watching baseball, especially the Billings Mustangs and the San Francisco Giants.
Amie is survived by her parents, Donna Dominguez of Dayton and Bill Dominguez of Parachute, Colo.; two brothers, Richard (Arely) Valdez and their three children of Phoenix, Ariz., Levi (Melissa) Dominguez and their two sons of Sheridan; grandparents, Joe and Helen Ramirez of Powell, Clara Dominguez of Santa Clara, Calif., and Larry Keck of Cullpepper, Va. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Amie was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bill Dominguez of Santa Clara, Calif., and grandmother, Mary Keck of Cullpepper, Va.
A celebration of life for Amie will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Dayton Park in Dayton.
Donations to honor Amie may be made to the First Interstate Bank in Sheridan.
