Patricia Lou Strand Sanford, formerly of Powell, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, due to complications related to a recent surgery. She was 69.She was born in Roundup, Mont., on Aug. 17, 1942, and spent her younger years around the Musselshell and Yellowstone county areas.
Throughout her life she travelled to various locations working and raising her family.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Peg Strand, brother Rusty Strand, daughter-in-law Michelle Schwab, and companion Harvey McConnell.
Pat leaves a legacy of strong family values and would be proud to say her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest accomplishment and passion in life. Her legacy will live on in generations to come.
She is survived by her seven children: Barry Schwab, Mike Schwab (Janice), Brian Schwab (Jan), Stuart Schwab (Raquel), Don Sanford (Lori), Carrie Maestas (Rob Rott), Eric Esterholt (Heidi), and her favorite son-in-law Joseph Maestas; 31grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two on the way. She is also survived by her siblings Donnie Strand, Shirley Zimmerman (Larry), Jeanie Perkins (Bill), Lorelie Elkshoulder (Michael), and many nieces, nephews, and countless others that called her friend.
Funeral services were held in Billings.
