Doris M. Cunningham of Powell died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at the Powell Valley Care Center. She was 86.

Doris was born Oct. 16, 1925 in Briggsdale, Colo. to Oris Claycomb and Dorothy (Schnepf) Turney. Her mother and stepfather (Donald Turney) moved her to Powell in 1931, where she attended school.

She married Harvey E. Cunningham in Red Lodge in 1940.  

She became a nursing assistant and worked many years at the Powell Hospital and especially enjoyed working in labor and delivery. She loved spending time with her family and her cats.

She was an excellent cook and loved sewing and crocheting. Her favorite summertime activities were going camping and having water fights.  

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Turney of Powell Valley Care Center (105), daughters Pat Jenkins (Jon) of Virgina Beach, Va., Penny Blake (Bill) of Cody, Paris Cunningham (Richard Stueven) of Omaha, Neb., and one more son-in-law Bill Hutzenbieler of Belfry, Mont., sisters Connie Byus of Clovis, Calif., Lilly Boldt of Lochbuie, Colo., and Carol Johnson ofWheat Ridge, Colo. She is also survived by her grandchildren, JohnHutzenbieler of Powell, Tori Hutzenbieler of Billings, Brandi Fischer of Bozeman, Mont., and Corey Blake of Newark, N.J.; and great-grandchildren: Doni Rae Lauk, Dereck, Dylan and Dawson Hutzenbieler, all of Powell; Destin and Ashton Christman of Billings, and Ellie Fischer of Bozeman; and two great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Oris Claycomb, stepfather Donald Turney, husband Harvey Cunningham, and daughter Pam Hutzenbieler.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. (viewing at 1 p.m.) at Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
